"5 out of 5 stars"..."The Best Documentary about
Latin Hip Hop I ever saw...
February 11, 2003...This is one of the
best thought provoking documentaries ever. I had a chance to see this movie
several times and I just can't take my eyes off of it. This movie brings out the
truth about Latin Hip Hop. It tells how Latins were in this movement we call hip
hop from the beginning. This is a must see. Everyone should see this documentary
because it brings to the attention of how important Latin Hip Hop is. BUY THIS
DVD!!!... YOU WON"T REGRET IT!!!..." written by a Viewer from La
Puente, CA on Amazon.com.
"5 out of 5 Stars... Finally, A DVD worth buying...February 9, 2003...
Finally, a documentary worth watching. Pass The Mic! is a ... musical tour de force on the Latin Hip-Hop World. Big props on making this film! I received the pre-order copy the other day, and Dammm...I've seen this movie 3 times already. Those freestyles are some of the tightest I have ever seen. Plus, this movie isn't about cars, money, and the bling-bling
that most rappers talk about. This is the real deal, straight up hard-core look at what it really is like in the music industry. Everyone needs to learn from these Rappers. ...I thought I would be wasting my money, but the movie is worth the paper and the DVD is stacked with bonus stuff. "The Passion of Existence" is tight as hell; and Jacken of Psycho Realm clowns fools who think they are "Hip-Hop" but telling
us the truth-there is no one way to act to be hip-hop, like wearing sideways hats, -that hip-hop is just living your life and not vice versa. I highly recommend this movie! It fits nicely on the shelf next to Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke DVD."

"I used it for my research paper. My topic
was "The Influence of Latinos in Hip Hop." It helped a lot. There are some other
dvds I want to get about latin hip hop too, but i hear ppl say this is the
best." written by RicoSuave on 5/10/04 on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"I finally got it and I learned a lot from the dvd. I feel it was
put together really good. The special feature interviews are what I really like
because they go more deep into the conversations with the artist. If you want to
know about us in hip-hip/rap get "Pass THE MIC", if you're trying to come up in
hip-hop/rap and need some experience in hip-hop/rap without having experience
then get "PASS THE MIC". Its very interesting in my opinion, and the rappers in
the dvd are quick to spread knowledge." and "Ese vato Conejo can get crazy with the freestyle? One of the reason why i got it
was because they interviewed Capone, and he just came real with it, he lets you
know no bullshit. But to be fair, everyone of the artist and dj's are giving you
the reality of the business and thats what was so great about the dvd. No Bullshit.
Mellow Man Ace is a walking hip-hop/rap encyclopedia. Like I've posted before, the
added interviews go deeper into the conversation and you get added info about the
rap game." written by Caps on 5/9/04 on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"It was tight, especially since they mentioned Chicano Rappers from Northern
Califas. It mentioned Sir Dyno and Darkroom Familia, which was cool." written by MexBrwnPrid925 on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"THE DVD ESTA BIEN FIRME. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. The whole
Documentary was informative, Props to the Director. The Bonus Material was
almost a whole other DVD and was very impressive. Just a chance to see VENENO
From TATTOO INK FREESTYLE WAS WORTH IT. Conejo rips it up and the Jacken
interviews were very informative for all the Psycho Realm fans on here. COP THAT
SHIT NOW!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT." and "YOU WILL LEARN AND APPRECIATE THE STRUGGLE IT TOOK FOR THE
CHICANO HIP HOP SCENE TO COME TO LIFE." written by spooky619 on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"I finally got my copy on Friday, it was pretty good,....I must
give propz to the producers, they did a very good job on the interviewing
process....my opinion~ would be to have a pass the mic 2,...but yeah it was tyte...much Respect on that." written by Carmen Miranda on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"Gotta get Pass da mic......... a must see! Shit was tight! It was well worth the 20.00 bones
I spent at best buy in the eastcoast. But the video from kinto sol was the shit , I need
that, I don't care what anyone say's, I'm bumping that shit right now on my pc.
But the movie was very intresting and it help me understand of were we stand
right now and how hard my carnales work for their shit to be played without
being payed sometimes. Fuck it this vato is only supporting mi gente. But what
can we do if the demand is there and no supply, I guess just keep demanding that
underground shit que no. let me know were u stand, with us or against us

funny too." written by Rob V on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.

was able to see something like that on my favorite artist like Proper Dos,
Conejo, Pyscho Realm, and so on..." written by Chicano 623 on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"I liked the DVD..I thought it was an insightful documentary..It included part of
the history with Mellow Man Ace, which I thought was the best part...I liked the fact that Aztlan Underground, Psycho Realm,
Delinquent habits, Street Platoon, and Nuevo Xol were in it. I think the documentary is a step in the right direction."
written by Pachacutec on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"The Best part of the Pass The Mic dvd was all the Conejo
freestyles" written by Spidahman on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"Yo that dvd is tight. They put it down and interviews of how they came up was
tight. Mellow Man Ace, ODM all of them, I especially liked the video of Kinto sol
el capitan especially the end when it has them 3 drewn and it says 12.23.2012" written by Paloitz on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.

footage of Conejo, Psycho Realm, Street Platoon, Proper Dos... Get this shit.
Its fucking tight!!!" and "I learned alot from it. I mainly got it cause it had Psycho Realm in it, but the
whole DVD is tight shit. Talks about everyones struggles." written by Big Bouncer on the BrownPride Hip Hop Board.
"5 stars out of 5...It can't be ignored.
I ordered this DVD thinking it might have some hard to get Music Videos, but what I found is that
Pass the Mic included so much about the Latino Hip Hop scene. It is so well
done. If you are a fan of Latino Hip Hop or Hip Hop in general you need to check
this DVD. It explains the history, the rise and fall of artists, the bullcrap
record companie$, raw freestyles, and straight-up interviews with the artists.
Pass the Mic had to have been made by someone with extreme knowledge and a love
for Hip Hop, I highly recommend." written by a reviewer in Fullerton, CA.
"Average Rating: 5
stars out of 5...Finally their stories are told
the right way!...Wow, I am amazed. Not only is the quality of the dvd awesome, but the
whole documentation of this hip-hop movement is beautifully told through the
artist themselves. There are plenty of nice special features like the music
videos, extra interviews, and the "freestyle" sessions. This is a must get DVD!!"
written by a reviewer in Los Angeles, CA on CD Universe.
"Pass The Mic! is top notch!...Rated 5 out of 5...I
love Pass The Mic! It is an intelligent film. I heard good things about
this film, but I was hesitant to get it. Now I know what everybody is
talking about. This shows the history of Latinos in Hip Hop. This
documentary goes further by exposing the politics of the music business.
Big Props to the Director and Producers for bringing the best hip hop
documentary of the year!" written by Joe Beright on DVD Empire.
"I bought a copy, and the film obviously
tells a different side to things. Informative and Raw...it's filled with tons
of new artists that can flow as well as old school legends. I thought it was
going to be the typical, amaturish, everybody owns a camcorder crap, but it was
dope! Also, there are dope pictures in the photo gallery, and there is a cool
graffiti poem." written by Wisesage on the Freestyle Remix Forum.
"5 out of 5... 02/18/03...Extremly well done documentary. The history of
Latino Hip-Hop is told through the artists, and includes some great live
footage, and freestyles. Many music DVD's I watch once and I'm bored, but this
one I have checked out three times already. It is so raw and real that it fits
the scene. It's not filled with Hip-Hop artists showing how many G's the artists
have and how crazy they can be, instead Pass the Mic focuses on artists who rap
for their love of Hip-Hop. You got to check it out..." written by impala8888 on Half.com.

in Rockville, Maryland. I saw the ad in a magazine (I think it was XXL) and I went out looking for it everywhere and found it there. It was good and I watched like like 7
times!! I am a big fan of Delinquent Habits, Psycho Realm, Mellow Man Ace and Brown Town Looters, so it was perfect!!!!!" written by latinthug540 on June 23rd, 2003.
