On November 13th, 2002, Pass The Mic! was blessed
with the opportunity to be a part of the inaugural H2O Hip-Hop Odyssey Film
Festival, held at one of hip-hop’s birthplaces: the Bronx, New York. Even though Pass The Mic! features
predominately West Coast Artists, the East Coast welcomed us into their home
with open arms. Many of Hip-Hop’s
Legends, including Fab 5 Freddy (one of the organizers) and Grandmaster Flash,
were in attendance throughout the festival.
The H2O Film Festival was a five-day event that celebrated
all aspects of hip-hop. Pass The Mic!
helped kick off the festival on opening day at 2pm Eastern Time. Other films screened at the festival were
The Freshest Kids, Paid in Full, Tupac Vs., and Wild Style. The festival ended with the appearance of
Jam Master Jay’s Widow.
