ARTISTS INTERVIEWED

We had the pleasure of interviewing each group and individual listed below for Pass The Mic! We would like to extend our gratitude to each and every individual who gave up their time to talk with us..

DELINQUENT HABITS first burst onto the scene with the hit "Tres Delinquentes", which ended up going gold, and gaining mainstream attention. Even though Delinquent Habits has had trouble with their associations with major labels, that hasn't stopped them from making critically acclaimed records.

Straight out of Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles/Montebello, the BROWN TOWN LOOTERS are true survivers of the game. Back in the early 90's, the Looters released "Dope House In The Ghetto" out the drunk, and before long that single was climbing the billboard charts. Through the years members have come and gone, but one thing remains the same, the Looters are still creating dope music. Founding Member Citric is also the host of The Hip Hop Show.

Way before mixing hip hop with the heavy sounds from a guitar was the thing to do, AZTLAN UNDERGROUND turned heads with this revolutionary approach. The engery conjured up from an Aztlan Underground show was tremendous. Now veterans of the game, Aztlan Underground refuses to sign with a Major Label and continues to grow throughout the underground. Voted LA WEEKLY's 2001 best hip-hop band.

"Are you a Psycho?" The crowd screams "Yes!" and then the pits start. Beautifully mixing conscious and spiritual lyrics with hard beats, THE PSYCHO REALM are officially the kings of the underground. Each album has been labeled a classick, and everyone awaits War Story Book 2.

The Mexicans who roamed South Central are now leading the way in the music industry as RHYME POETIC MAFIA. Consisting of DJ Ace and Gel, they are often remembered for the work that they performed on Ice T's albums. But what the public doesn't know is that they are the most underrated hiphop group.

Not to many people in the industry can say that they have worked with nearly everybody in the Latin Hip Hop game, but ODM of LIGHTER SHADE OF BROWN can. Having gone gold with the single "On a Sunday Afternoon", Lighter Shade of Brown helped open up doors for all Latin Artists. ODM is still a very busy man; he continually has hit songs on the radio, produces music for numerous Artists, and is a current on-air DJ for 99.1 KGGI in Riverside, Ca.

Representing West Los til he dies, CONEJO doesn't ask for respect, he takes it. On the surface it seems Conejo is a reckless gang member who likes to piss people off. To truely understand him though, you would have to listen to the deep lyrical content of his music. Conejo has the talent and charisma that could take him to the top and into mainstream America.

Ask anybody in Texas who CAPONE is, and they would all tell you the same thing: Texas Legend. While everybody locates to Southern California to try a music career, Capone did the opposite. He left California to have a successful career in Texas. But his success is not only limited to Texas, he is recognized worldwide.

When this documentary started, FIDEL RODRIQUEZ of DIVINE FORCES RADIO was broadcasting his show as Seditious Beats. While most radio deejay's are programmed not to speak their mind, Fidel kicks knowledge about the world, whether or not the powers that be agree with him. Fidel continues to Educate and Entertain with his radio show, Divine Forces, on Friday Nights at 10pm on 90.7 FM.

As the world moves closer to World War 3, two soldiers from the STREET PLATOON have been warning us about it for over a year now. Street Platoon's debut underground hit left the public wanting to hear more Sick Symphonies. One of the best new groups in years.
One of hiphop's true pioneers FRANK V of PROPER DOS has done it all. "Mexican Power" and "Firme Hina" are some of his earlier hits, but the youngsters of today still bump those songs in their rides. Ask any artist who they would like to collaborate with, and most will say "The Hardest Latin Rap Artist". Frank V proves that you don't have to be on a Major Label to have longevity and success in the rap game.

Not many people can flip English and Spanish as the members of ILL-FAME can. While not new to the game, they bring a new unique style, which is very visual. Their underground track "Motion Pictures" is a rare gem that's hardly heard in today's music. Watch out for this group in 2003.

Recognized as one of the "Godfathers of Latin Rap" MELLOW MAN ACE kicked the whole "Latin Hip Hop" genre off with his massive hit "Mentirosa". This living legend is currently at work with his new supergroup, Serial Rhyme Killers, with B-Real of Cypress Hill and Son Doobie of Funkdoobiest.

Having pissed off every PTA and Government Official in Mexico, MOLOTOV keeps selling albums. They had platinum hits world wide, while not buckling under the pressure to censor themselves. As the same time they shout "Gimme the Power", they are also taking it.
